There are stone steps up to the front door into the kitchen on the main floor - with sink, electric fridge, Butagas gas cooker with oven, dishwasher, telephone. We have provided pans, crockery and cutlery for 8. Hopefully everything you need without losing the atmosphere. There is a notice board with details of markets, restaurants etc which our guests have recommended.

Living Room

Straight forward from the kitchen into the main living room  with traditional French dining table and benches, sofa and armchairs, sideboard and a large antique armoire. There is a massive granite fireplace with an efficient woodburner - we have no central heating but there are various oil-filled electric radiators etc around the house.  There is deliberately no TV but there is a radio.

The buffet sideboard contains local maps and brochures, playing cards and games and sewing things together with drinking glasses. We also have books of rambles, a star map (see the Milky Way as you have never seen it before) and books of wildflowers, birds etc. The antique armoire holds spare bedding, hot water bottles etc.

Many of our visitors enjoy spending the evening by fire and candlelight, chatting and drinking - wine or local cider or calvados. Pommeau is a Normandy speciality made from apple juice fortified with calvados - a nutty, apple sherry flavour.

Games room

A large downstairs room with another granite fireplace and a tiled floor. The table football, air hockey and table tennis table are in here together with a dart board and a sofa. The table is full size - if you are keen player take some good bats and balls, the ones there are ancient and the lights get in the way of professional players

We are working here at present to upgrade this room. Our tools etc are now behind a lockable partition, firewood will be stored in here, hopefully by this winter. At present firewood is in the middle cellar.
